Team development or mediation? Team conflicts are omnipresent in organizations. For both those involved and those providing guidance, it is often unclear what is truly needed. The term mediation can easily become diluted, or a clear conflict may be softened into a team development process, leading to frustration when it inevitably fails. How can we address this tension?
Event Details
Hans-Georg Class will explore this topic with examples and methodological approaches from his practice as an in-house organizational developer and mediator. He will discuss when certain approaches are useful, where their limits lie, and how mediation and team development can complement each other. Participants will gain insights into assessing conflict-laden team situations and choosing appropriate forms of intervention.
About the Speaker:
Hans-Georg “HG” Class is an Organizational Developer and Business Mediator at Daimler Truck AG, and also works independently, including within the consulting network of the Protestant Church of Württemberg. After studying engineering and pedagogy at the University of Stuttgart, he held various roles at Daimler AG, including quality management in sales, leadership development, and as an Agile Coach. In his work, he combines classical systemic consulting approaches with agile methods such as SCRUM, OKR, and Design Thinking, also leveraging generative AI. At the center of his practice is always the individual, as a self-responsible human being, with fears and hopes.
