Why Mediation Matters in the Military
Conflict, both big and small, is an inevitable part of human interaction, faced often by all of us. In the military context, where the stakes are high and relationships are critical, effective conflict management leading to effective resolution is essential.

Everything was so enriching and I loved this multicultural class. I think that was the main learning here because we learnt to be an international mediator because this is a huge cross-cultural mediation. When I need a co-mediator from another country, I will remember you.

"In Afghanistan, I faced a tense Shura with village elders and a disruptive MP when trying to gain vehicle access to a mountain area in Northern Afghanistan. It did not go well Initially and we were deeply on the back foot, but we managed just, to be granted access after a difficult three hours in the blazing sun.
We started as a negotiating party but ended up mediating between the Shura and the MP. Had we been trained in mediation, we could have resolved the conflict more quickly and confidently. That experience led us to develop our own in-house training to fill the gap. IMC takes it to the next level and provides military personnel with enhanced mediation and leadership skills to tackle difficult problems."
