A tour around mediation, an alternative process for dispute resolution, where conflict parties can freely express their emotions, needs and demands in a safe and amicable environment to resolve the conflict. Participants will get the initial insight into:

• How it differs from other ADRs;
• What principles does it include;
• Its current situation around the world.

Iran

After receiving his PhD in Public Policy from the University of Tehran, Yahya Parvandi took a role in many facilitations in policy-making throughout the country as a policy advisor at the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Meanwhile, he started his social activities in the promotion of peace, where he faced Mediation for the first time at the Tehran Peace Museum. Now with less than a decade of experience in policy advising, he is an IM-Campus certified mediator trying to promote Mediation throughout his country.

From the perspective of a student, my takeaway was, within this course, that it is not enough for you to study books alone. You have to do real practical sessions and the practices that we had in this training during these three months were really, really helpful for me.
